Christmas Lights at Quarantine Point

So in very rare form and against all odds this post is brought to you by ROSS! Yes there really is another half that exists. As my loving wife reminded me, our blog is "Petersens" (plural) "Beyond the Sea." Now to the meat and potatoes...

We had been waiting for the moment to finally see Rissa and enjoy some time with her. After a very long 2 days of flying and an excruciatingly long layover in Miami International she made it in one piece! I'm sure some good sleep was on Rissa's mind as a top priority but we had some plans to jump right in show her some fun things on the island that night. She was very gracious and said we should go. We took her to Quarantine Point to see the Christmas lights that had been set up for the public. Part of the reason we decided to go despite the long flight and late arrival was because A. we hadn't yet, B. We had just learned about it, C. It was the last night they were up and so we really wanted to go before it was too late. Here are a few pictures...
The Christmas Peacocks! A nice cool-colored glow. And lucky us this shot captured the flashing pyramids at the same time.

As you can see the light were very beautiful and the two ladies on the right are very cute too!
This is one of my favorites, its classic Christmas, with an oddly dark, unlit angel in the upper right. I also like that there are coals to warm the manger, gotta keep the baby warm at night, right?

This was just a beautifully lit little grove of trees that captured my eye. These next ones really need to be profile pictures for Facebook...

It's always an enchanting experience to walk and bask in the glow of Christmas lights. It really puts you in the spirit of the season like nothing else can.

There you go, our little light trip was very enjoyable and our first official adventure with Rissa on the island.
