Yucaipa Light Show

Everybody loves Christmas time. There are so many things about it that make it special to all of us. One thing that I have always enjoyed is the enchantment and magical feeling of Christmas lights. Kristen and I had heard about an entire street set up with Christmas lights in the city just down the 10 from us and it sounded pretty exciting. But wait there is more. The street is not just crammed full of beautiful lights, its crammed full of beautiful lights all set to blink and flash and light up according to the music being broadcast over a radio frequency in the neighborhood. Yes you read that correctly, AN ENTIRE STREET FLASHING TO MUSIC THAT COMES RIGHT TO YOUR VERY OWN CAR STEREO! So we made some hot chocolate grabbed a few cookies and set out to see what all the fuss was about. Let me just say it was well worth the 15 min drive. The pictures and videos hardly do it justice but I hope you enjoy what we captured.

This is obviously Kristen and as many of you know she hates cold weather, so this is her enjoying the warmth of the hot chocolate that we took with us. For most of the walking the hot chocolate was safely tucked within her coat radiating the warmth that she enjoys.

You're probably wondering why we got out of the warmth of the car in the first place but the pictures, like this one, just aren't possible from the confines of our car.

The Christmas tree made of lights in this picture is one of my favorite parts of the street because it looks really cool the way it flashes colors to the music.

This was a particularly beautiful house with the accent lights on the trees and the lights lining the edges.

This house with the really cool Santa and sleigh and the previous picture were actually not on the same street as the light show but were very, very close and worth a look.

Towards the end of our journey the rain started to fall and it was just hard enough to be a nuisance. On the other hand it made for a really great picture allowing for typically boring cement to become a giant Monet.

Okay and now the moment you have all been waiting for...our favorite video clips of the experience. The audio isn't always the loudest or best and I apologize but listen closely and you'll see the lights light up right along with the music.
